What is Olive Defence Entrance Academy (ODEA)?▼
ODEA is a comprehensive online preparation platform for defence entrance exams — CDS, NDA and AFCAT. We provide chapter-wise study notes, practice quizzes, full-length mock tests, a performance leaderboard (War Room), and progress tracking — everything a defence aspirant needs in one place.
Which exams does ODEA cover?▼
We cover three major defence entrance exams:
- CDS — Combined Defence Services (Army, Navy, Air Force)
- NDA — National Defence Academy
- AFCAT — Air Force Common Admission Test
All subjects, quizzes and mock tests are available separately for each exam.
Can I try before I buy?▼
Yes — without logging in you can try 3 free sample questions per subject quiz. These are the same 3 questions every time so you get a consistent feel for the quiz format and difficulty before purchasing.
Study notes and mock tests require a login. Once you have Full Access, all 10 questions per quiz, all notes, and all mocks are unlocked.

Are the mock tests based on real previous year papers?▼
Yes. Every quiz and mock test pulls questions randomly from a large question bank — so you get a different set of questions each time you attempt, keeping practice fresh and preventing rote memorisation of answers.
The question bank is built from Previous Year Questions (PYQs) from actual CDS, NDA and AFCAT papers, supplemented by questions created specifically for each exam — all mapped to the syllabus, tagged by subject and difficulty, and verified for accuracy.
Mock tests replicate the real exam — same marking scheme, same time limit, same negative marking. Full review with correct answers and explanations is shown after every submission.
What is the War Room? NEW▼
The War Room is your personal performance command centre. It calculates a
Performance Index (0–100) based on four things:
- Mock Tests (50%) — the most important activity
- Subject Quizzes (30%) — tests subject-level mastery
- Chapter Quizzes (10%) — chapter-by-chapter reinforcement
- Weekly Consistency (10%) — rewards steady preparation over cramming
Your index is compared against all students on the same exam cycle and ranked on a
Battalion Leaderboard. Rank titles range from Recruit to General. Separate leaderboards for NDA, CDS and AFCAT.
Live Classes & Portal
What are the Live Classes?▼
ODEA runs
live online classes for CDS, NDA and AFCAT — conducted over Zoom or Google Meet by our expert faculty. Each batch has a fixed weekly schedule. Along with live sessions, students get access to:
- 📹 Recorded replays of all past classes
- 📄 Study materials and notes uploaded by teachers
- 📅 Class schedule for their batch
Live classes are separate from the Q-Bank membership — they are a full guided course with a dedicated batch and faculty.
How do I join a Live Class batch?▼
Getting into a live batch is simple:
- Go to the Live Classes section on our homepage and click New Student — or visit olivedefence.com/dform.php directly
- Fill in the Free Demo Class form — if a demo is available, you'll be added to the next one
- Our team will contact you on WhatsApp with demo class details, batch info and fee structure
- After admission and payment, you receive your login credentials via WhatsApp
- Come back to the site and log in from the same Live Classes page using your Student Login
The entire process — demo, admission, fee, onboarding — happens over WhatsApp with our coordinators.
How do I log in to the Student Portal?▼
Once admitted, visit
olivedefence.com/portal_login.php — or use the
Student Login button on the Live Classes page on our homepage.
Your
Login ID and password setup link are sent to you on WhatsApp after admission. If you haven't received them or have forgotten your password, contact us on WhatsApp or Telegram and we'll sort it out within a few hours.
Are Live Classes included in the Q-Bank membership?▼
No — they are two separate products.
- Q-Bank Membership (₹299) — self-study: notes, quizzes, mock tests, War Room. Buy directly on the site via Razorpay.
- Live Classes — guided course with a batch, faculty, live sessions and recordings. Admission is through our team on WhatsApp; fees vary by batch and exam.
Many students use both together — live classes for guided learning and the Q-Bank for self-paced practice and mock tests.

War Room & Rankings
How is my Performance Index calculated?▼
Your index (0–100) is a weighted score of four activities:
- Mock Tests — 50% of your index. Attempt at least 60% of questions per mock for it to count.
- Subject Quizzes — 30%. Complete the full session — partial attempts are not counted.
- Chapter Quizzes — 10%. Submit all questions for the attempt to register.
- Weekly Consistency — 10%. At least one attempt per week earns a full week's credit.
If you have not attempted any mocks, your index is capped at 60. If no subject quizzes, capped at 75.
Why does my rank go down even if I don't do anything wrong?▼
Rankings are relative — your rank is your position among all students on the same exam cycle. If other students attempt more quizzes and mocks while you are inactive, their index rises and your rank falls even if your own score hasn't changed. This mirrors actual exam competition — everyone else is also preparing.
What are the rank titles?▼
Rank titles are based on your Performance Index:

- 🎖️ Corporal — 33+
- 🎖️ Sergeant — 44+
- ⭐ Lieutenant — 55+
- ⭐ Captain — 66+
- 🏅 Major — 76+

Rankings update every 30 minutes automatically.
What happens to my rank after the exam?▼
After each exam cycle ends, the leaderboard is frozen permanently. Your final rank and index are preserved as a record you can always look back on. A fresh leaderboard then starts for the next cycle with everyone beginning at zero.
Account & Progress
Do I need to create an account?▼
You can try 3 free quiz questions per subject without an account. For study notes, mock tests, full quizzes, and War Room access, you need to log in. After purchase, your account is created automatically and your progress, quiz scores, and rankings are saved and synced.
How does progress tracking work?▼
Each chapter has a
Mark as Done button. Your dashboard shows:
- Subject-wise completion bars for NDA, CDS and AFCAT separately
- Chapters done vs total per subject
- Chapter quiz scores on each chapter card
- Mock test history and scores in the War Room
Can I use ODEA on my mobile phone?▼
